Stratavarious

When it comes to strata, I love to make it and use it. This quilt is from a quilt book called Stratavarious Quilts. Once you create strata, you can cut them into pieces and use them any way you like. Color theory works hard here. Can you name the scheme?

Stanwood Fights the Flood

The geography of the city is such that if the Stillaguamish River crests 532, the city will fill like a goldfish bowl. So major efforts were made to sandbag certain areas to prevent a catastrophe. With an abnormal amount of snowfall, followed by a Hawaiian Express (warm air and rain), we quickly ran into huge amounts of water. The river overflowed it's banks and flooding began on the south side of town. We were protecting the city on the north side. Here is what we saw enroute to town to fill sandbags.

An Early Anniversary Present

As our 20th Anniversary arrives on the day the digital television revolution does, we get TV reminders daily that there are only so many days until February 17th. More Snow after Christmas!

Cecil thought the snow was a blast. Unfortunately, it was up past his legs, but he didn't mind. We did lose some plants due to bending and breaking, and no, the trash wasn't collected for 3 weeks.

Christmas is Here!

Marnie celebrates her 10th birthday and then Christmas is upon us. Grandma sent a great present for all the birds at our home starving from the snow. Marnie built it on Christmas afternoon and the birds were eating before we were.

Jack Gets Set

After two weeks in a temporary cast and sling, Jack moves on to a real cast. He ended up choosing blue, just like Frazier did a year ago.

Willards and Huffs at Temple Square

With both families visiting Utah for Thanksgiving, we figured it would be nice to meet up and have fun together. So we headed for the Christmas Lights at Temple Square on Saturday. It was packed with people, but that just made it more exciting. Paul was in the temple, working with his dad, and we were outside, enjoying the sights.
