Katie's Plaque in England

Because Katie submitted her mission papers while she was in London, her ward has a plaque with her missionary service hanging in their building.

She is doing well and enjoying serving with some fantastic sisters.

Calvin leaves for Provo

Today was the big day for Calvin (and Adam Jensen) to take off for Provo on their way to Brazil. It was an exciting day and we were thrilled they would be travelling together. As usual, it was an early flight out of SeaTac, but hopefully they will receive their visas soon. Calvin is heading for Porto Alegre and Adam is going to Belo Horizonte. Good luck, Elderes!

Romeo

This is our neighbor dog, Romeo. He visits daily and lays his huge body in the middle of the kitchen floor. It is appropriate that Marnie took this pic on Valentine's Day. He's a lover dog!

Over the years his face has gotten whiter, but he has always played well with our dogs. He was happy with Yuki, Cecil, and Rufus.

Bunny Hunt

We went to visit Karen Lowry to see bunnies this weekend. Hopefully, we will get a few next month when they are weaned. Marnie can hardly wait!

Karen's entire backyard is filled with wild bunnies, but these big ones are in shelter and well-fed. It reminded me of getting rabbits when I was a little girl. We traveled to Utah in a rented RV and on our way back we stopped at some friends of my parents. They gave us Bun Girl and Bun Boy.

Snow Arrives

The kids worked hard with the little amount of snow we had to create a friend.

Rufus is unnerved by the newcomer.

Transformed into a snow girl!

Calvin's Birthday

Howard Calvin is 20 already!

We invited the missionaries to come celebrate since he will be one in 3 weeks!

We have no idea what he wished for, but it was probably cake and ice cream.

Collage Quilts

Lorraine inspects one of my collage trees. These are totally fused. The process is very simple:
1. Fuse yards of hand-dyed fabrics.
2. Cut random one-inch squares.
3. Fuse onto a background (batting or useless fabric).

This piece is blank, but has circles on it now. I just need to take an updated picture.

This one makes use of complimentary colors.

Learning about positive/negative images has helped me develop this tree image.

Although this isn't a true Japanese Notan, it still is effective. I haven't been able to work in true symmetry.
