Let's head to the trampoline

When we bought this house in 1999, we quickly got a trampoline, mostly for Calvin. He would like to watch TV and then want to expend some energy during the commercials. It's funny to see his daughter out there getting some exercise.

Trip to Westport

I felt like getting away, which seems silly since we have been gone so much. I found a friend at the temple who has a rental home in Westport. So while the eclipse was happening, we got out of town. It took so long to drive there from the temple that I have a new appreciation for the saints there. Our friend John Schultz is an ordinance worker from Elma and it must take him 3 hours to get to Bellevue.

Due to the popularity of the eclipse, most people had departed for better viewing areas. We had the whole beach to ourselves.

We drove around the North Bay to Ocean Shores.

On our way back to our rental, we stopped by and toured the Grays Harbor Lighthouse.

Progress on the Millefiori

I have made quite a bit of progress on my millefiore in the past few months. Road trips help. It takes so long to audition fabrics for each rosette, but once that is decided upon, the rest is easy. I don't mind fussy cutting, but it does make it difficult to match everything when basting.

With 7 rosettes finished, I probably have another year of work to do. What I really wish I had was a coloring sheet so I could plan out a bit further.

Grandma's Toy Box

I know how parents feel when they hear the sound of the toy box being emptied out. But it doesn't bother me anymore!

Toys out, Bonnie in!

I love children trying on Mr. Potato Head's glasses. It has been going on since I was a child.

Family Night

We enjoyed a family night with the Watlands at the church building last night. I asked Paul to bring Papa Murphies, I brought Texas Sheet Cake, and Frazier brought the volleyball. We enjoyed playing card games, too. Danika is the queen of card games (after Grandma and Grandpa Beck).

I love to see all the Jettas together. Quite patriotic.
