Oceanside Vacation

We stayed in Oceanside for 4 days on the beach and took advantage of all the sun and water. Luckily, the weather cooperated and we had a great time. No one got sunburned or eaten by the surf.

Trip to Temecula

After an horrific breakdown outside Mesquite, and limping into Las Vegas, we gave up hope and rented a van to complete our trip to San Diego. We arrived at Tad's home at 8am instead of 8pm. He was so nice to us and let us sack out on beds and couches. But the pool was too tempting for some.

First Eagle Scout

Howard received his Eagle Scout award and a ceremony at the Camano Island Building. It was fun to have an opportunity to celebrate all his hard work. I even got a mother's pin, but I didn't do much to help him. Paul did all that. And Rob is has always been a fantastic leader in helping move these boys along.

Back to Jan 2000, Howard got his cub scout uniform. That is ten years of tremendous growth.

Howard's High School Graduation

It was a Miracle. After weeks of hideous weather, the clouds parted and the sun shone on graduation. Everyone was astounded. Howard sang with David a new song in front of packed stands of parents and grandparents. Paul's parents came up from Salt Lake and we all had a great time together.

Lots of big screams and shouts!

Graduation in 2 days!

Calvin will be walking across the wet grass toward his diploma in just 2 days! The last two weeks have been so busy with Scholarship Night, Talent Show, Eagle Court of Honor, 5th Ave Theater Awards, and more, that we've hardly seen him. And because he has to work tonight, I have to emcee the Senior Memory Night slideshow.

Kitten Education

It's important to start early with kitten education. If you wait to begin reading to them, they lose all interest and start chasing each other around the room. We find they like books such as: Puss in Boots, The Lion King, and Cat in the Hat. However, leave the television off, or they will be distracted and learn nothing.

Vancouver Temple Open House

We made a little day trip to see the temple on a gray, rainy day (is there any other kind?) and loved to see inside the new Vancouver temple. Frazier is missing because he got to visit the previous weekend. It's decorated in Arts & Crafts Style with long linear stained glass, green and blue throw rugs and dogwoods carved into everything. The wood moulding is all very wide and dark. Although it is a small temple, the open house was bustling for weeks. Border security finally called to find out what was going on because 1 in 3 cars crossing into Canada were coming to see the new temple!
