Marnie's Class

Marnie attends Elger Bay Elementary just like all of her brothers and sister. Jane Mosteller is her teacher now, which is really nice for us, since we are friends.

We were surprised by a little bit of snow this month as modeled below:

Rachel's Wedding

We drove down to Provo to see my niece Rachel get married in the Provo Temple. Her house is only a few blocks away, so we could actually walk! The kids hung out at the house and then arrived just in time for pictures.

The next day we went to Salt Lake and wandered around Temple Square.

Batik Squares

With General Conference being broadcast, I thought I'd set up my sewing machine on the dining room table and sew while I watch. After two days I was done. I decided to quilt suns throughout. When a quilt is very linear, I like to quilt circles.

Stanwood Fair

It's fun to see the fair come into town. We enjoyed a nice Friday afternoon wandering around the animals, the quilts, and the rides. Many of our friends in the ward were displaying quilts, art, and canned goods.

I was surprised by seeing my quilt hanging at the entrance of the quilt barn. Someone I didn't even know told me congratulations and I had no idea what to say. For what?

Wow, there's a best of show ribbon on there! It was a quilt I made for my mom and decided to throw in some double battings for trapunto. I guess they liked it. Nana did too.

Cascade Park Camping

The Camano Island Ward met together at Cascade Park to camp and then build some tent camping platforms. We loved cooking over a fire with a dutch oven at night. Marnie and I shared a tent and kept warm at night. Dad worked with the Flakes, Floyds, and Kramers.

These three young men in my seminary class were having a great time playing/working. Parker Seegmiller, Braden Anderson, and Trevor Floyd.

Marnie is a good supervisor.

Dance Festival

Recently the kids have been involved with Dance Festival at Marysville High School. It is quite a challenge for youth leaders to keep everyone attending young men's and young women's. Sometimes they practice their dances during the week. I like watching them dance, but it is about an hour from home to travel.

I think Katie's dance was a callback to President Hinckley's first date with his wife.

It's true that it was very loud behind the scenes. Calvin participated in the Oslo Dance, which was lovely. We were all relieved when it was over.

Fort Casey

We love to visit Fort Casey, especially during Spring Break. The kids can just run and run. Sometimes we bring kites. This time the kids brought light sabers.
