Marnie's Ballet Recital

We raced back from San Diego, flung Katie out the door in Provo, and arrived home in time for Marnie's ballet recital. She danced to Stray Cat Strut with gusto.
Then she was a little ballerina in Rain, Rain, Go Away. Ballet has been a great class for her and she will be continuing in the fall.

Disneyland in a Day

After planning for 3 months, we hit Disneyland for one thrilling day. I used RideMax to optimize our ride schedule, which resulted in 28 rides in 14.5 hours. We rode until we didn't want to ride anymore. The Dole Whips were delicious and the weather, perfect. Because of the Give a Day promotion, we did it on the cheap. We had 6 free tickets!
Space Mountain for the third time makes Howard crazy! But we'd all be screaming in a few minutes. It was almost everyone's favorite ride of the day.

Paul is worried that Jack is going to spin him into infinity! And beyond! We all tried our best to pass out from the spinning.

The Haunted Mansion doesn't seem to be frightening the kids much. It was still early in the morning so we walked right in. That meant we missed the line that wanders through the graveyard. We didn't stand in many lines.

Back to the Board

There is no place I'd rather be than out there on a boogie board. On the last day of our vacation, we looked out the hotel window to completely flat water. I felt sorry for those who were coming to surf. We were packing up to leave.

LDS Sites Tour

Our first stop was the Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center in downtown San Diego. Jack was dressed up in period gear and sent to fight the non-existant Mexican Army.
Frazier drove this covered wagon through the broken concrete that is known throughout the area.

Howard thought he should text someone when he completed the 2000 mile journey.

Finally, we were able to do some temple work at the San Diego Temple. Unfortunately, the entire structure is covered with scaffolding so a small picture would have to do.

Life after Graduation

Just days after graduating, Howard laps up the surf and sun. What more could you want in the 3 months between school and...more school?

Windham Vacation

We stayed in Oceanside for 4 days on the beach and took advantage of all the sun and water. Luckily, the weather cooperated and we had a great time. No one got sunburned or eaten by the surf.

Trip to Oceanside

After an horrific breakdown outside Mesquite, and limping into Las Vegas, we gave up hope and rented a van to complete our trip to San Diego. We arrived at Tad's home at 8am instead of 8pm. He was so nice to us and let us sack out on beds and couches. But the pool was too tempting for some.

First Eagle Scout

Howard received his Eagle Scout award and a ceremony at the Camano Island Building. It was fun to have an opportunity to celebrate all his hard work. I even got a mother's pin, but I didn't do much to help him. Paul did all that. And Rob is has always been a fantastic leader in helping move these boys along.

Back to Jan 2000, when Calvin got his cub scout uniform. That is ten years of tremendous growth.

Howard's High School Graduation

It was a Miracle. After weeks of hideous weather, the clouds parted and the sun shone on graduation. Everyone was astounded. Howard sang with David a new song in front of packed stands of parents and grandparents. Paul's parents came up from Salt Lake and we all had a great time together. Our second child is graduating with his classmates from Stanwood High School.

Lots of big screams and shouts!
