I felt like getting away, which seems silly since we have been gone so much. I found a friend at the temple who has a rental home in Westport. So while the eclipse was happening, we got out of town. It took so long to drive there from the temple that I have a new appreciation for the saints there. Our friend John Schultz is an ordinance worker from Elma and it must take him 3 hours to get to Bellevue.
Due to the popularity of the eclipse, most people had departed for better viewing areas. We had the whole beach to ourselves. We drove around the North Bay to Ocean Shores.
On our way back to our rental, we stopped by and toured the Grays Harbor Lighthouse.
