We were in for a rainy and windy day at the temple. There was no point getting you hair just right. At some point, we all started laughing. Eric's parents are from Fresno, so they were freezing cold. I felt terrible for taking so many pictures outside. Wakana did a fabulous job.

Marnie's Reception
We drove to the Turners to use their gazebo for a reception announcement reminder. It was raining, but not snowing, so that was good. Grandma and Grandpa Beck offered us their home for an open house. I made a bunch of treats and of course Tauni had plenty of goodies. It was wonderful to see so many friends and family come visit and share their love.

Tailoring
I don't have great tailoring skills. I prefer two dimensional sewing, not 3-D. A few weeks ago I picked up a dress form on Craigslist to help me alter Marnie's wedding dress. It was really helpful while she was in Rexburg. The last bit was the zipper. Once she returned home, I did a fitting and finally sewed the zipper in. When I took this picture, I was feeling triumphant.

Temple Trip
We all carpooled down to the temple to accompany Marnie as she receives her endowment. It is a busy week, but these times fill my heart with such joy. Afterwards we went to Lynnwood to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Mmm, that was great.

Storm at Sea Finished
A local quilt shop designed a program to help quilters finish their unfinished quilts. I wrote a list of 12 quilts, some that were completed tops and needed quilting and binding, some that were half done, and some that had just one block done. That was my challenge with Storm at Sea. Since Diana gave me the book and I made one block, I ran out of the hand-dyed fabric. In order to complete this quilt, I had to find the dye recipe to make the fabric first.

Christmas Party
Why not have a Christmas Party? I love making treats for the holidays so we had a party with some close friends, enough to fill the front room. We talked about meeting our spouses and a little bit about our weddings. We have the funniest friends.

Jackson & Amber Wedding
This wedding will go down as the most dramatic for us. And the bride doesn't even like drama! Paul and I flew into Anchorage on Thursday evening, rented a car, and drove to our hotel. Jackson had flown up the week before to help set up for the reception. We stopped by Amber's family home and enjoyed a lovely dinner. We took Jackson with us so we could be together the night before the wedding.
At 6:30am Paul woke up and started getting ready. The wedding wasn't until 11am so I complained a bit. But Jackson and I got up and were dressed by 8:30am when the earthquake started. It was still dark outside because it was November in Alaska. I was in the bathroom when the lights went out. I couldn't figure out why Paul and Jackson were jumping up and down on the floor. We were staying on the 3rd floor which was the top floor.
I suddenly couldn't remember what to do during an earthquake. Should I hop into the bathtub? I opened the door and saw Jack and Paul looking out the window. Car alarms were going off in the darkness below. The power came back on and the Emergency Broadcast System were telling us there was a tsunami alarm. We should go to higher ground. Well, we thought we'd just stay here. That was until someone knocked on our door and told us to evacuated. There could be a gas leak.

Tessellation
Another Alison Glass pattern caught my eye. Tessellation is a triangle-based quilt that has an improv feel to it. So much so that I did what I wanted. I love the secondary designs. There are points at some locations where 8 seams are intersecting. Very tough for quilting.

Eagle Scout Plaque
The Eagle Scout plaque in the Camano Island building has been full for a long time. I kept asking if they will add to it so Frazier and Jackson can be represented, but it takes a long time. They had both served missions by the time this was posted. But someone took up the charge and got it done. Thank you!
