A local quilt shop designed a program to help quilters finish their unfinished quilts. I wrote a list of 12 quilts, some that were completed tops and needed quilting and binding, some that were half done, and some that had just one block done. That was my challenge with Storm at Sea. Since Diana gave me the book and I made one block, I ran out of the hand-dyed fabric. In order to complete this quilt, I had to find the dye recipe to make the fabric first.
I really didn't have too much trouble dyeing the right colors and creating enough fabric. I bought the black batik to help me along. No one likes dyeing black when it's easy enough to buy.
